An organic mixture of visual disorientation and sonic primitivism, it touches on the sublime, the arcane and the esoteric. Assaulting the senses with rhythmic deconstruction and ritualistic chants, Lightbringer holds the influential banners of Viennese aktionist Hermann Nitsch and American percussionist Z’EV in high regard. Yet it develops a distinctive language that feeds from as disparate elements as free improvisation, industrial, apocalyptic folk, electronic music, black metal and shamanistic vocalizations. Film projections will provide lumière to the maze of proceedings.
